So Monday was my brother’s 21st birthday, but since he’s started back at university, we postponed our celebrations until today.
He’s been under strict instructions to come home this weekend for MONTHS. And he has had no idea why.
Little did he know that, in May, I had booked tickets to see The Woman In Black at the Fortune Theatre in London. He’s studying Drama, and I knew that he would definitely love to see a West End show. He was absolutely thrilled! He’s also been given money from both our mum and our grandma to go towards acting classes for after he has graduated. Since he wants to be an actor, one thing he will need to do is work and build on his craft. Even some of the best actors still do this, and those classes can prove costly. However it is an investment towards what will one day be a brilliant career.
So the reason this Reflective Friday has become a Reflective Saturday is because we were busy celebrating. But it’s still Friday in some parts of the world, so I’m cutting myself some slack.
The rest of the week hasn’t been particularly interesting. However, I did achieve something huge on Monday:
I filmed a video for my blog!
It was just a flip-through of my bullet journal for part of this week’s blog post. However any kind of public speaking really makes me panic. You can hear how anxious I am in my voice, and although I had a script I could feel myself fumbling over my words. I constantly had to stop and start over again because I couldn’t get my words out, but I got there in the end.
Admittedly, I can’t bear to watch that video now, despite the number of takes it took to actually film it. It may not be the most professional or highest of quality in terms of videos. But the fact that I actually managed to do it is a massive achievement for me. I made sure to treat myself to some of my favourite comfort foods afterwards!
I may try and do more videos for my blog in the future, however I have to apologise in advance for my anxiety. Fingers crossed with some time and your support, any videos I do will improve.
College has been infuriating me as of late, due to the sheer lack of efficiency in the teaching. For 3.5+ hours at a time we are sat in a classroom looking at the presentation slides that the teacher is reading off. It is mind-numbing.
I did a little experiment on Thursday. I turned up to college over an hour late, and went straight to the library. In the remaining 2.5 hours I was able to go through the slides for the class, make notes from them, and do some research for my dissertation. Hell, I even managed to throw in half an hour of prepping my October Newsletter.

I know that classes have some inefficiencies due to time for questions, class engagement, etc. But these classes are frustratingly long.
Anyway, I hope that the rest of you have had a good week. Tomorrow, my mum, brother, and I will be setting off to London. I am so excited!
Sorry again that this post is late, and I hope that you all enjoyed this latest Reflective Friday.
Have YOU had any great achievements this week? Let me know in the comments!
And in the meantime, keep smiling!
